Melanie & Keith Evans
Melanie developed her interest in the health food industry following the diagnosis of her daughter Izzy with an autoimmune condition in 2019. She is very much a believer in Naturopathy, the body’s ability to heal itself and as a family they have aimed to manage Izzy’s condition with diet, vitamins and supplements.
Melanie studies naturopathic nutrition at The College of Naturopathic Nutrition in Cardiff.
Keith was brought up on the family farm in Welshpool. He is a Crop Nutritionist and is specialised in animal and crop nutrition. Keith is a big believer in the importance of diet and nutrition for overall good health and wellbeing. Both Melanie and Keith will be responsible for the overall running of the store.
In late November 2019 Melanie and Keith travelled to Australia and learned of the benefits of the Kakadu plum whilst on a guided tour of The Daintree Forest. The fruit, which is not dissimilar to a gooseberry in taste and appearance, has 100 times the vitamin C content of an orange and 50 times the antioxidant levels of a blueberry. Melanie had ambitions of opening a Health Food Store in Bridgend and vowed to name it after this extraordinary fruit. The store stocks this wonder fruit in powder form.
